I am a science graduate from the University of Athens and I have an MSc from Trinity College Dublin. I am available for tutorials (Mathematics and Science - chemistry and physics) of all levels. I am a professional teacher with many years of experience (17 years). I have worked for years with teenagers, I am patient and I have always seen great results.

Experience

I have 17 years of experience in tuition to english, greek and italian speaking students (private lessons, evening schools, public high schools, higher education). Levels of experience: UK Key Stages 3 and 4, GCSEs , IGCSEs, A-Levels, IB, greek Panellinies). I have worked as a supply teacher in public schools around Manchester, UK. I am currently teaching online students based in the UK as part of the after school program "online tuition in schools around the UK". I have always seen excellent results from my students. Last school year I taught mathematics at the International School of Bologna (ISB), grades 8, 9, and 10 of the MYP and grades 11 and 12 of the IB programme. My experience in the ISB has been very positive, the school environment, the staff and the students matched my international mentality. I was happy to get to know students with different backgrounds and I felt that I had established a good connection with them. In terms of the programme that I followed in class, I was very happy to see that the MYP allowed me the flexibility to approach mathematics through a variety of activities and real life applications. The DP and IB levels were structured in a way that by using the resources that were provided to me I saw the students learning and getting confident for the upcoming exam. I can describe my approach as differentiated learning, aiming to engage the student with my personal support, even outside the teaching hours. For me there is a clear difference between teaching and learning.

I like to learn foreign languages, I already speak perfectly english and italian and some french. I like to learn more things on foreign cultures as well and I am a very open minded person. I enjoy travelling, hiking and outdoors activities. I support simplified science, I also learn more things on pedagogics, ongoing education, art, music and architecture.
