Experience
Experienced Maths teacher with a strong track record in teaching the new GCSE, iGCSE and A-Levels (Maths and Further Maths). I was a classroom teacher and tutor until July 2019 but recently moved to Greece with my family and wish to focus on one-to-one or group tutoring._______ I spent the last three years teaching the new GCSE to top set year 10 and 11 students and specialised in converting students with predictions of grade 6 or 7 into grades 8 or 9. All students in my most recent GCSE class achieved at least a grade 7 with 11 of them achieving a grade 9 and 14 achieving a grade 8._______ In addition to teaching GCSEs I also have experience of tutoring students in the IB._______ I was also the maths coordinator for Key Stage 4 (years 10 and 11). This involved preparing all year 11 students for their maths GCSE exams and creating tailored programmes for individual students to help them maximize their full potential._______ I have an excellent understanding of university level maths and the new A-Level (Maths and Further Maths) including Statistics, Mechanics and Decision maths. This knowledge is further enhanced by my PhD which was heavily maths based._______ I offer a free consultation to potential tutees/parents to outline a tailored programme to maximise grades for potential tutees._______ As part of any programme of tuition I also mark tutees work in order to identify possible mathematical misconceptions which are addressed during future tutorial sessions._______ Online Tuition: The online platform that I use allows for both face-to-face tuition and an interactive whiteboard onto which documents or exam questions may be uploaded and annotated. This simulates an experience similar to face-to-face tuition while offering the advantage that students can record the lesson and interactive whiteboard to help them study at a later time.
